Western interior design remains a popular choice among residents of the United States. Other well-used features include plenty of wood, plenty of stones, leather, pottery and various textures and surfaces are used as well. In many cases, a fireplace is featured in this design style. Many people associate this style as a more masculine style than other popular design styles.

One reason that people associate western interior design as a masculine style is the use of cowboy memorabilia, hunting trophies, hunting and fishing equipment. Regardless of the exact items used for accenting or for the décor, this style has a warm down home feel to it. You will notice that in a western style kitchen, there will usually be pots and pans hanging from the ceiling along with stone walls and colorful accents throughout the kitchen.
